QC distributes cash aid to over 300 small business owners

The Quezon City (QC) government announced on Tuesday, May 31, that a total of 320 small business owners in the city received P5,000 livelihood assistance each under its Small Income Generating Assistance (SIGA) Capital Assistance Program.

Mayor Joy Belmonte distributed the cash aid to the beneficiaries from the city’s six districts who first underwent a thorough verification process done by the Social Services Development Department (SSDD).

The mayor said the local government brought its services closer to the “QCitizens” so that more residents will benefit through the taxes paid by the people.

The capital assistance program aims to help small business owners like sari-sari store owners to re-establish their businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to quezoncity.gov.ph.

Residents who are interested to be part of the program can coordinate with the SSDD Vocational Development Division’s office located at the Molave Youth Building, QC Hall Compound: https://quezoncity.gov.ph/departments/social-services-development-department/
