Maxicare advances healthcare and medical testing with AI SmartScan technology partnership

Maxicare has partnered with Advanced Abilities Solution Management and Services Inc. to introduce AI SmartScan into healthcare technology.

AI SmartScan is an innovative solution that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to assist Radiologists in rapidly analyzing chest X-rays and computerized tomography or CT scans. It boasts delivering quick results completing the usually long triaging process in just 2 minutes. Using AI technology, digital chest scans are automatically evaluated to provide accurate analyses for 25 different chest pathologies including tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, lung nodules, emphysema (smoker’s disease), cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), COVID-19 and even the early detection of lung cancer. 

“Back in the day, getting tested for various lung and heart diseases would cost a patient a rather large sum of money and a lot of time waiting for the results to arrive. With AI SmartScan, we are able to eliminate so many factors that can add to a patient’s distress. In that sense, we are able to democratize patient care through an innovative solution that will invariably reduce hospitalization and rescue the already overburdened healthcare infrastructure in the country,” said Advanced Abilities Chief Technology Officer Christer Cruz. 

Picking up from the difficult experience of the healthcare industry at the height of the COVID-19 outbreak, Maxicare took the initiative to look for solutions to quickly mitigate the further spread of diseases. “We figured that one of the keys in limiting the contagion is rapid diagnosis. Through the quick end-to-end health screening solution provided by the AI SmartScan, we are able to complete the process even before health risks become aggravated. This technology could not have come at a more opportune 

time as Maxicare continues to find ways to improve its services for its clients,” says Argos.
