Cebu eases travel restrictions for vaccinated travelers

CEBU CITY – Cebu has eased the travel restrictions for vaccinated travelers.

Travelers, both foreigners and Filipinos, who have been fully vaccinated and administered with one booster shot, is no longer required to present RT-PCR tests when entering the province.

For fully vaccinated travelers who have not received any booster dose yet will still have to present a negative RT-PCR result taken within 48 hours prior to their departure.

This policy was contained in Executive Order (EO) No. 15 that Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia issued last Monday, May 30.

The governor’s EO was in line with the national government’s decision to drop negative RT-PCR results as a prerequisite for travelers from overseas.

Garcia welcomed the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) in implementing more relaxed border protocols.

With the relaxed border protocols, the governor is hoping for an increase foreign arrivals in Cebu. “And I am very positive and optimistic that our international arrivals will soon be rapidly increasing,” said Garcia.
