Dela Rosa: Villar offered Zubiri a term-sharing agreement on Senate presidency

Senator Cynthia Villar had offered a term-sharing agreement to Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri with regards to the Senate presidency bid, Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa disclosed on Tuesday.

According to Dela Rosa, Villar has been open to a term-sharing deal and had since offered it before to Zubiri.

“I’m not sure with Migz kung okay sa kanya, pero kay Maam Cynthia is okay naman siya mag-term sharing (I’m not sure if Migz is okay with the proposal, but Maam Cynthia is okay with the idea of a term sharing agreement),” Dela Rosa told reporters in an interview.

Dela Rosa is one of the eight (8) senators in favor of having a Villar-led Senate in the 19th Congress. Villar and Zubiri are said to be the top contenders for the post.

Zubiri, on Monday, May 30, told reporters he is also open to a term-sharing agreement but some of their colleagues who are supporting his bid are opposed to the idea.

Dela Rosa said the eight (8) senators supporting Villar are “solidly” supporting her.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that both senators would both be great leaders of the Upper Chamber.
