Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco on Monday, May 30, lauded Barangay Daanghari after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) declared it as the 12th drug-cleared barangay in Navotas City.
“Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Navotas continued its relentless campaign against illegal drugs to keep every Navoteño safe,” Tiangco said.
“We are thankful to all officials and constituents of Brgy. Daanghari for working hand-in-hand to uphold peace and order in our community,” he added.
Tiangco, with representatives from PDEA and the Philippine National Police–Navotas, handed the drug-cleared certificate to barangay Daanghari chairperson Alvin Oliveros.
Barangays that retained their drug-cleared status included Bagumbayan North; Bangkulasi; Navotas East and Navotas West; North Bay Boulevard South (NBBS) Dagat-dagatan, NBBS Proper and NBBS Kaunlaran; San Rafael Village; Sipac-Almacen; and Tanza I and Tanza II.
“The support of our constituents is vital in our anti-drug campaign. Please continue to report to TXT JRT any suspicious individuals or activities. Let us continue to be vigilant and win this fight together,” Tiangco said.
Navotas has a community-based treatment and rehabilitation program called Bidahan which includes rehabilitation and counseling, and aftercare program that runs for six and 18 months, respectively.
