The PBA will decide on the status of Kiefer Ravena for the season-opening Philippine Cup once an agreement has been reached between him and NLEX management.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial said Ravena sent a written letter over the weekend seeking for a clearance to suit up for the Road Warriors in the first conference before heading back to Japan to sign a new deal with B.League side Shiga Lakestars.
Nag-uusap pa sila as of now pero sumulat na sakin,” he added.
An arrangement was reached last year that will allow Ravena to play one season in Japan on the condition that he returns to the Road Warriors.
Ravena has been present in NLEX’s preseason activities, even attending a recent team building seminar at a resort in Bulacan.
But NLEX team governor Rod Franco said talks are still ongoing between the two parties.
“Si Kiefer gusto maglaro sa amin pero wala pa, nag-uusap pa ang both sides,” said Franco.
