Converge named Broadband Telecom Company of the Year

Fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. was proclaimed Broadband Telecom Company of the Year in the Philippines at the Asian Telecom Awards 2022 for its achievements and initiatives in the preceding year.

“This award is a validation of our goal to connect the underserved and unserved areas in the country," remarked CEO and Co-Founder of Converge Dennis Anthony Uy.

"We will continue on to reach more Filipinos and give them world class broadband connectivity. This is our lifelong promise and mission,” he noted.

The Asian Telecom Awards 2022 honored firms which overcame significant market obstacles while providing clients with relevant products and services.

The awards program, which began in 2003 with Asian Mobile News, honors premier telco companies pioneering ground-breaking products and solutions in the preceding year.

Converge was a forerunner of the Philippine broadband internet industry, a sector once dominated by only two players.

The company’s rapid growth took shape at the height of the pandemic lockdowns as it answered to consumers’ increased demand for high-speed internet connection for remote work, online education, and entertainment.

“Connectivity is a lifeline for many people and businesses," according to Uy.

"Thus, having fast, reliable access should not just be a privilege of a few, but should be a right of every Filipino, regardless of economic standing,” he stressed.

To serve the underserved and unserved areas of the country, Converge completed the national digital highway and invested in subsea cable systems to boost its international capacity.

Recently, the company was also named the Outstanding Wireline and/or Wireless Company during the Pacific Telecommunications Council Awards 2022 and was also given the Global Excellence Award by the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines.
