Romania has pulled out of the 2022 Miss Universe Competition.

Organizers made the announcement on its official Instagram account last May 27.

The full statement:

"After much deliberation, we regret to inform you that we had to put a pause on this year's edition of Miss Universe Romania.

"It was our honor to be a part of the beautiful MU family for two incredible years, and we surely hope to see you all again in 2023!

"We were looking forward to the boot camp week, the grand final, and choosing our 3rd consecutive queen, after Miss Bianca and Miss Carmina. Unfortunately, due to new events that we could not anticipate, our plans have changed.

"Nonetheless, this is NOT a final goodbye! We are still with you and we will continue to give you the updates you deserve.

"Yours Truly,
Miss Universe Romania Organization"

No date and venue have been announced for the staging of the 2022 Miss Universe Competition. But rumor has it that the prestigious pageant will be held again in the US sometime in December.
