Drug suspect nabbed in Cagayan de Oro, P340,000 worth of alleged ‘shabu’ seized


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Police seized over P300,000 worth of suspected ‘shabu’ from an alleged drug trader arrested during a buy-bust operation at Phase 1, Zone 5-A, NHA, Barangay Kauswagan in this city on Sunday dawn, May 29.

The Police Regional Office of Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), in a report, identified the suspect as Glenn Catli, 29, of Sitio Calaanan, Barangay Canitoan in this city.

The police operatives were able to verify the suspect’s illegal activities after they were able to buy one sachet of shabu from the suspect using the P1,000 during the operation.

Catli was considered a high value individual (HVI) after the authorities had confiscated a total of more or less 50 grams of shabu with an estimated market value of P340,000.

The anti-illegal drug operation was led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU-10), with the assistance of Carmen Police Station 4 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) and Police Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit 10.

The suspect who was brought to the custodial facility of the RPDEU-10 office is now facing a case in violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
