SAN ANDRES, Quezon- A 43-year-old woman and two-year-old child died while two others were hurt when the mini truck they were riding fell into the canal as the driver fell asleep on Friday morning in Barangay Talisay in this town.
The victims were identified as Rosemarie Abonales and the unnamed child who were bother pronounced dead on arrival at the San Andres Rural Health Unit. The victims were both from Barangay Pugawan in San Francisco town.
Injured were Reynaldo Abonales, 49, and a 17-year-old, residents too of the said village.
According to reports, Reynaldo, the driver, fell asleep while traversing San Andres-San Francisco road going to Barangay Pugawan. The truck fell to the canal.
Villagers reported the incidents to the police station and the victims were rushed to San Andres Rural Health Unit.
According to Dr. Virgilio Florido, the fatalities were already dead due to fatal injuries in their bodies. The two others sustained injuries and were still being treated in the hospital.
