Will Duterte become Marcos admin's anti-drug czar?

President-elect Bongbong Marcos is open to giving outgoing President Duterte a role in the new government, "if he wants to".

Marcos was asked point-blank during his Facebook live interview with select media last Thursday, May 26 whether or not he would give Duterte a role in his incoming administration.

"If he wants to," the former UniTeam candidate answered.

Asked by a reporter if a position like an "anti-drug czar" would be something he would give to Duterte, Marcos once again said, "If he wants to".

However, the 64-year-old incoming Chief Executive clarified that he doesn't have a standing offer or arrangement with Duterte.

"He has not, we have not talked about it. But I’m open to anyone who’s able to help in the government so," Marcos said.

"Matagal naman, matagal na kaming magkaibigan ni PRRD (Me and Duterte have been friends for a long time). Nung mayor siya pa (He was still the mayor then), long long time ago. So I’m sure if he wants to play a part, sasabihin naman niya sa akin (he should tell me). certainly open to all of that," he added.

Suffice it to say that Duterte's past unsavory remarks about Marcos are a non-issue with the latter.
