Bulacan police seize 144K marijuana, arrest 7 suspects in anti-crime ops


Police seized P144,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves from two arrested drug suspects in Barangay Sto Cristo, City of Malolos, on Friday, May 27, the 5th day of the weeklong Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO).

Col. Charlie A. Cabradilla, acting Bulacan police director, said the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Malolos City conducted a buy-bust operation, resulting in the arrest of suspects Gerardo Padawan alias “Jerry” and Minerva Tamayo alias “Minie”, both residents of Sto. Rosario, City of Malolos.

The duo yielded 11 sachets and one brick of dried marijuana leaves weighing around 1,200 grams with an estimated value of P144,000.

Cabradilla also reported that five more drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-illegal drugs operations by the Special Drug Enforcement Units of Balagtas, Marilao, and Pandi.

The arrested suspects were identified as Fidel Cayco alias “Pate”; Monte Carlo Remolano alias “Chet”, Ric Orjaleza, Michael Avien dela Cruz, and Mark Aaron Interior.

Police confiscated from the suspects a total of 15 sachets of suspected shabu, two sachets of dried marijuana leaves, a coin purse, and buy-bust money.
