Bulacan celebrates National Flag Day and Heritage Month


Re-elected Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando urged the Bulakenyos, particularly the youths, to display the Philippine flag at home, schools, offices, and other establishments until June 12, 2022.

Fernando made the call as he, along with Vice Governor-elect Alex C. Castro, graced the program marking the 124th anniversary of the Philippine National Flag on Saturday, May 28.

Fernando said the "red, white, and blue" banner will always serve as a beacon for freedom and a symbol of the sovereignty of a proud patriotic nation and the people. It inspired war veterans not only in Bulacan but in the entire country.

The Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office headed by its chief Dr. Eliseo dela Cruz led the program celebrating the National Flag Day and the National Heritage Month at the Bulacan Sentrong Pangkultura, Antonio S. Bautista Bulacan Provincial Capitol compound in Malolos.

The program started with a flag-raising ceremony and wreath-laying activity before the monument of Gat Marcelo H. del Pilar.

It was followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Guillermo Tolentino Exhibit Hall, Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center for its 50th Anniversary exhibit.
