The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) announced on Friday, May 27, that the final event for the Million Volunteer Run 6 (MVR 6) is now set to be done virtually instead of the originally-planned face to face program on June 12 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) grounds.
PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard J. Gordon said that the change of plan was made to prioritize the safety of participants and volunteers since the threat of Covid-19 infection is still around the corner. The detection of the virus's subvariants in the National Capital Region, Palawan, and Baguio City also cannot be underestimated.
The virtual gathering of runners and bikers for MVR 6 is the culminating event for this year's annual fundraising and volunteer recruitment of PRC. Raffle prizes for lucky winners include mountain bikes, massage chairs, a laptop, tablets, Airpods, Fitbits, and cash.
Proceeds from the said activity will go to the humanitarian organization's programs against Covid-19.
