May 25 was a momentous day for the UniTeam tandem of president-elect Bongbong Marcos and vice president-elect Sara Duterte since it was the day Congress members, siting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), proclaimed the two as election winners.
But it appeared to be an especially happy day for Marcos, who is seen in these photos grabbing Duterte's arm as if he had just been reunited with his long-lost BFF.
These rather candid photos during proclamation day at the House of Representatives were shared on Facebook Thursday, May 26 by Duterte. The post has received over 220,000 likes and reactions.
"Muli salamat po sa tiwala niyo. Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas! (Again, thank you for your trust. Let's all love the Philippines!)" wrote the incumbent Davao City mayor and presidential daughter.
Before their proclamation, Marcos and Duterte were last publicly seem together on May 7 during their third and final miting de avance in Parañaque City.
The elections took place on May 9, wherein they garnered over 31 million votes each en route to a rare majority mandate.
