Members of K-pop groups Kingdom, H1-KEY leave due to personal reasons

Two members of K-pop groups Kingdom and H1-KEY have quit due to personal reasons.

Agency GF Entertainment announced on May 25 that Kingdom member Chiwoo, 19, quit the group due to personal reasons.

“First of all, we would like to say thank you to the fans who support and love Kingdom,” the agency said.

It added, “We would like to inform you of our official position on Kingdom's future plans.”

“We would like to inform you that Kingdom member Chiwoo has terminated his exclusive contract for personal reasons and is leaving the group. We apologize for causing concern to fans and many others with this sudden news,” according to the agency.

It said that the “fan signing events scheduled for Friday and Sunday will be held with a group of six members. To the fans who won Chiwoo's personal video call autograph session, the record label will issue a full refund.” Kingdom debuted in February 2021.

On the same day, GLG, the agency of girl group H1-KEY, announced that Thai member Sitala left the group just nearly five months after debuting in January.

“We would like to notify that Sitala, who has been a part of H1-KEY until now, has decided to leave the group due to personal reasons,” it said, according to SBS News.

It added, “The agency discussed this matter with Sitala herself as well as with the rest of the H1-KEY members, and the decision was made after a thorough review of the overall situation. Above all, we apologize for causing concerns with such sudden news.”

“We ask for your warm encouragements toward Sitala's future, and also toward H1-KEY members, who plan to resume the path to their dreams again. Thank you,” it said.

H1-KEY debuted with the single “Athletic Girl” last January.
