More than 30 QC families get land titles

A total of 38 families from different barangays in Quezon City received the titles to their lands from the local government on Monday, May 23.

The city government said the families were from Barangays Baesa, Escopa III, Bagong Silangan, Kaligayahan, Fairview, Novaliches Proper, Bungad, Sto. Nino, and Payatas.

They received their land titles through the Direct-Sale Program of the city’s Housing and Community Development Resettlement Department. The titles were handed over to them by Mayor Joy Belmonte.

The program aims to help informal settler families (ISFs) to own the lots where their houses were built by directly purchasing the land owned by the local government, according to quezoncity.gov.ph.

The local government said the beneficiaries became the legitimate owners of the lots after they paid for the land according to the city’s terms of payment.

It added that since 2019, there are a total of 340 families that received their land titles under the program.
