Marcos camp expecting proclamations for Palace, VP posts Wednesday

The camp of presumptive president Bongbong Marcos is anticipating the Ilocano's proclamation as president-elect on Wednesday, May 25, or 16 days after the conduct of the national elections.

This was evident in the media advisory sent by the Marcos camp to reporters at past 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, even as members of Congress proceeded througout the night with the canvassing of votes cast for the presidential and vice presidential race last May 9.

" BBM Media Center will be closed tomorrow (May 25, 2022) to give way to the anticipated proclamation of President-elect Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and Vice President-elect Sara Duterte at the House of Representative(s)," the advisory read.

Located along EDSA in Mandaluyong City, the BBM Media Center has practically functioned as Marcos's headquarters-slash-office since the campaign season for the polls began.

"The Media Center will resume on Thursday (May 26, 2022)," the advisory added.

Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Duterte comprise the UniTeam tandem, which--based on the official running tabulation by the House of Representatives and Senate members sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC)--is en route to a dominant win in the polls.

The earlier surprise manifestation of Vice President Leni Robredo's counsel, lawyer Romulo Macalintal, sought to hasten the conduct of the canvassing.

Opposition leader Robredo is Marcos's tightest rival in the presidential derby.
