Lapid noted that for almost two weeks of competition, the Philippine athletes were able to bag 52 gold medals in various sports, namely Pencak silat, kurash, gymnastics, kickboxing, triathlon, duathlon, fencing, pole vault, jujitsu, wushu, dance, bowling, taekwondo, swimming, billiards, muay Thai, archery, e-Sports, judo, weightlifting, tennis, basketball, and boxing.

Lapid said it was clearly seen that the entire Philippine delegation performed remarkably and commendably during the 31st SEA Games.

“The stellar performance of the entire Philippine delegation, despite the difficulties in the preparation and training amid a pandemic, deserves the highest praise, recognition and commendation for bringing pride and inspiration to the Filipino people and for showing to the world the unrelenting spirit of Filipino excellence,” Lapid said in his Senate Resolution No. 1007.

“Now, therefore, be it resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that the Senate congratulates and commends the entire Philippine delegation for their outstanding performance for the 31st SEA Games held from May 12 to 22, 2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam,” he further stated in the resolution.
