Man yields P55-M shabu in Caloocan buy-bust

Police arrested a man who yielded P55 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Tala, Caloocan City on Monday, May 23.

Police identified the suspect as Tantawi Salic alias “Tangie”, 35, a resident of Caloocan City.

The buy-bust was conducted by operatives of Caloocan Police Station at Riverside Phase 12, Barangay 188, Caloocan City at around 3:50 a.m.

The police retrieved from the suspect eight pieces of transparent vacuum-sealed plastic and one plastic bag containing a total of 8,100 grams of alleged shabu worth P55,080,000.

Also seized were seven pieces of foil wrapper bag, a blue travel backpack, a black digital weighing scale, two pieces P1,000 bill, and boodle money used in the buy-bust, police said.

Salic is now detained at Caloocan Police Station custodial facility.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
