BLACKPINK Jennie’s agency responds to dating rumors with BTS’ V


The agency of BLACKPINK’s Jennie has responded to tumors that she is dating BTS member V.

Jennie and V have been embroiled in rumors that they are dating after an alleged photo of them together in a car in Jeju Island was posted on online communities.

In the photo, two people who looked like them were in a car. It showed the man believed to be V is driving while the woman is beside him.

About the dating rumors, Jennie’s YG Entertainment did not deny nor confirm it.

"We have nothing to say," said YG Entertainment on May 23, according to Korean media outlet Digital Chosun Ilbo. "If there is a different position, we will let you know.”

Meanwhile, Big Hit Music, V’s agency, has yet to address the rumors as of this writing.

The original photo was uploaded by an Instagram account, which had the caption, "Today's hot photo. I don't know if they're just lookalikes, but two top idol stars were spotted together in Jeju island," according to SBS News.

It added, "The top female idol was recently involved in break up rumors with a male OG idol, so fans are believing in this even more. I will keep the names hidden for now since it has not been confirmed as fact yet."

In February last year, Big Bang’s G-Dragon and Jennie were rumored to be in a relationship, according to a report by Korean media outlet Dispatch.

YG Entertainment, the agency of the two stars, said then, "It is difficult for the company to confirm as it is the artists' personal life. We ask for your understanding.”

Rumors of the alleged breakup of G-Dragon and Jennie recently surfaced after his private Instagram account unfollowed her account.

Last December, BTS members launched their personal Instagram account, which amassed millions of followers.

On Dec. 7, fans noticed that V followed Jennie’s Instagram account. This created talks among fans and V unfollowed Jennie.

On the fan community app Weverse, V posted, "Is there a way to get rid of the 'recommended' list on Instagram? It's a scary app," according to SBS News.
