Over P80-M ‘shabu’ seized from 3 suspects in Valenzuela City


Police seized a total of P81 million worth of alleged shabu and arrested three men in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Maysan, Valenzuela City on Sunday, May 22.

The Northern Police District (NPD) identified the suspects as Algie Mengote, 43, from Pampanga; Nolan Sarsalito, 43, from Muntinlupa City; and Joseph Villamor, 50, from Caloocan City.

Joint forces of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) and Special Operations Unit- National Capital Region (SOU-NCR), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), and the Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) launched the operation against the suspects at the corner of Maysan Road and Cecilio J. Santos Street in Barangay Maysan at around 11:30 a.m.

Authorities confiscated 12 kilograms of alleged shabu valued at P81 million, the buy-bust money, a green Honda Civic vehicle, two cellphones, and various identification cards from the suspects.

Mangote, Sarsalito, and Villamor are now under police custody while the evidences recovered were brought to the office of SOU- NCR and PNP-DEG and Special Operations Unit for proper disposition and documentation.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
