ILOILO CITY – The Philippine National Police has arrested 1,425 wanted persons in Western Visayas region in the first three months of the year.
Based on the data released by the Police Regional Office (PRO-6), 253 of those arrested were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) while 1, 172 were other wanted persons (OWPs).
“It is our objective to cleanse our communities from the threat of criminality and we want that our people can sleep soundly at night and can roam around the streets, with a sense of peace and security,” said Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, PRO-6 director.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office had the highest number of arrests for both MWPs and OWPs with 85 and 602 respectively.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) ranked second with 46 arrested MWPs and 183 OWPs.
In third was Bacolod City Police Office with 44 arrested MWPs and 104 OWPs.
The Iloilo City Police Office arrested 23 MWPs and 42 OWPs. The Antique Police Provincial Office arrested 19 MWP and 36 OWPs. The Capiz Police Provincial Office arrested 14 MWPs and 57 OWPs.
The Aklan Police Provincial Office arrested 11 MWPs and 67 OWPs while Guimaras Police Provincial Office arrested two MWPs and 35 OWPs.
The Western Visayas unit of PNP’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDG-6) also arrested nine MWP and 46 OWPs.
