CALASIAO, Pangasinan -- Residents here could not imagine how six unidentified men killed a minor by shooting him several times and later slashed his neck.
The gruesome murder happened along barangay Nagsaing road around 9:50 a.m. on Friday.
Police said the victim, 15 years old, died on the spot after sustaining six bullet wounds and slashes in his neck.
The victim was walking along the road together with his uncle Willie Saplan and father, when six unidentified assailants on board four motorcycles arrived and surrounded them.
One of the suspects pulled a gun and fired towards the victim several times while another slashed the victim’s neck.
Provincial Director Colonel Richmond Tadina of Pangasinan Provincial Police Office on Saturday ordered the chief of police of Calasiao to conduct an in-depth investigation and to identify the person of interest.
Prior to the shooting incident, the minor was invited to the barangay hall and was accompanied by his uncle and father for a confrontation.
But the confrontation did not happen as the complainant left the hall.
Col. Tadina said that based on the initial investigation, the victim was invited for his alleged involvement in the case of a missing item in a utility box.
“Na parang may kinuha daw sa isang utility box sa plaza noong mga araw kasagsagan ng kampanya sa eleksyon,” Col. Tadina told Manila Bulletin.
Complainant may be considered a person of interest, the official said.
Empty shells recovered will be subject to a cross match.
Col. Tadina said there was a similar incident in another town where the suspects were almost of the same modus.
All Stations are conducting dragnet and checkpoint operations for possible arrest of the fleeing suspects.
The Soco-Lingayen PPO had also been tasked to process the crime scene.
