MB Daily News Update: Movie queen Susan Roces passes away

The Filipino people and the Philippine movie industry were shocked to learn Friday night, May 20, 2022, that movie icon Susan Roces had passed away, as confirmed by her daughter Senator Grace Poe's office at the Senate. She was 80 years old.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) approved additional honoraria of P2,000 for teachers and other poll workers who worked extended hours in the May 9 general elections.

Congratulatory messages continued to come in for presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who got a call from another world leader, this time Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, as they talked about continued economic cooperation and security enforcement between the two countries.

A United States naval destroyer will be named after Telesforo Dela Cruz Trinidad, an Aklan-born US Medal of Honor awardee, according to the US government.
