Five alleged drug pushers nabbed in buy-bust operations in Cordillera


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Five drug personalities, including Cordillera Region’s most wanted person, were arrested during region-wide police operations on Friday.

Col. Peter Tagtag, Jr., provincial director of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office, reported the arrest Region’s top drug personality in Gian Vincent Malannag Dela Cruz, 29, of Junction Nambaran, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

According to Tagtag, Dela Cruz was arrested in Purok 7, Bakras, Bulanao Centro, in Tabuk City at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The operatives seized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 3.0 grams of shabu valued at P20,400.

In Baguio City, police nabbed Rey Christopher Navarro Abero, 38, and a health worker volunteer, in another buy-bust in Abanao Extension, Rizal Monument.

Abero, a native of San Vicente, Ilocos Sur, was caught by the operatives after selling to poseur-buyer a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 0.5 grams of shabu valued at P3,400.00. On top of that the police also found another plastic sachet containing 0.4 grams of shabu valued at P2,720.00 in the suspect.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera also reported the arrest of three more drug personalities, namely, Ibalzon Cadangen, 37; John Ariam Paul Magramo Magro, 28 and Joemamil Valera Dipatuan, 37.

Ibalzon was apprehended by the BCPO and PDEA as he sold 0.79 grams of shabu worth P5,372 and an additional 0.74 grams of shabu worth P5,032.00 seized from his body.

In Pudtol, Apayao, Magro was arrested with 0.14 grams worth P1,000 while Dipatuan was arrested in La Trinidad, Benguet, with the police seizing three plastic shabu weighing 0.52 grams in and worth P3,536.00.
