KAMPO HEN. PACIANO RIZAL, Sta. Cruz, Laguna -- A successful one-day police anti-drug operation by Laguna Police Provincial Office resulted in the arrest of 36 drug suspects, including a high value individual, and confiscation of ‘shabu’ worth P135,151 in Laguna, a report released on Friday said.
LPPO provincial director Colonel Cecilio R. Ison Jr. said the police arrested Marlon de Guzman, 49, who they considered as a high-value individual. He was arrested by Calamba City Police at Sitio Lote in Barangay Lecheria.
The arrest of De Guzman was done in one of the 33 police operations conducted in different towns of Laguna in one day, said Ison.
The operatives confiscated a total of 19.21 grams of shabu worth P135,151 based on Dangerous Drug Board value.
The daylong anti-illegal drugs operations were conducted by Binan City, Pila, Los Banos City, Santa Rosa City, Cabuyao City, Pangil, Paete, San Pedro City, Cavinti, San Pablo City, Calamba City, Calauan, Alaminos, Bay, and Nagcarlan Police Stations.
The arrested suspects are now in the custody of the police stations and will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002), while De Guzman will also be charged for violation of R.A. 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms) in relation to Omnibus Election Code.
