K-pop girl group CLC disbands

K-pop girl group CLC have disbanded after seven years, according to their agency.

Cube Entertainment made the announcement on May 20 that CLC’s official activities have ended and that the CLC page on the United Cube website will be terminated by June 6.

“First of all, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of you for always loving and supporting CLC over the last seven years,” the agency said.

It added, “As CLC’s official activities have ended, we would like to inform you that the operation of CLC U CUBE will be terminated as of June 6, 2022.”

“We’re planned to allow you to read the posts for a certain period of time so that you can cherish the precious memories made with the CLC members. For more details, please refer to the following.

“[Change and Termination of Operation of CLC U CUBE]

“1. Termination Date : June 6, 2022 (MON) 0AM (KST)

“- Please understand that you will not be allowed to access CLC U CUBE after above-mentioned date.

“2. Available Period : ~ June 5, 2022 (SUN) 11:59PM (KST)

“- Available to read the posts and download data on each board.

“(You’re not allowed to write new posts and comments after this announcement.)”

The agency said, “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to you for your love and support for CLC. We will wholeheartedly cheer for each of the seven members making a new start on their own path.”

CLC debuted in March 2015 as a five-member group. The following year, Elkie and Eunbin were added to the group.

Their disbandment came after members left the agency.

Last March 18, Cube Entertainment announced “that the exclusive contracts with our artists Chang Seungyeon and Jang Yeeun have expired. We extend our sincerest gratitude to Chang Seungyeon and Jang Yeeun for staying with us for seven years since their debut.”

On Nov. 16, 2021, the agency said “that the exclusive contract with our artist Sorn has been terminated. With this termination, Sorn is now withdrawn from the group CLC. This conclusion follows a mutual agreement between both parties. We extend our gratitude to the fans who had sent love for Sorn. Please wish Sorn the best in her future endeavors.”

On Feb. 3, 2021, it said, “We would like to inform you that the exclusive contract with our artist Elkie has been terminated. With this termination, Elkie is now withdrawn from the group CLC. This conclusion follows a mutual agreement between both parties.”
