Three rape suspects, 32 others wanted by law apprehended in Cordillera Region

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Three suspects for the crime of rape and 32 others wanted by the law were arrested in a week-long intensified manhunt operation conducted by personnel of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera in the region.

According to the records of the PROCOR-Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division (RIDMD) from May 8 to 14, Baguio City Police Office has recorded the highest number of arrests with 20 wanted personalities followed by Benguet PPO with 11 arrests, and Abra PPO with four arrests.

Capt. Marnie Abellanida, deputy regional information officer, said the series of manhunt operations was highlighted with the arrest of six individuals listed as Most Wanted Persons, of which, three are listed at the Provincial Level, two at the Municipal Level and one at the Station Level.

At the Provincial Level, Conrado Gunaden, listed as No. 2, was arrested for the crime of Statutory Rape while Gilbert Ordonio, listed as No. 8, and Edison Wabe, listed as No. 9, were both arrested for the crime of rape.

All top wanted personalities for the provincial level were apprehended by Benguet Provincial Headquarters.

At the Municipal Level, Lopez Tayaotao and Avon Eve Ilagan, both listed as No.1, were arrested by Kapangan MPS and La Trinidad MPS for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 and Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act”, respectively.

At the Station Level, Aljon Agustin, listed as No. 8, was arrested by Baguio City Police Office Station 1 for the crime of theft.
