TIAONG, Quezon – A man and a woman were killed after they were shot by an unidentified gunman early Monday morning in Sitio Sambat, Barangay Talisay, this town.
The police described the male victim to be between 25 and 35 years old, 5’5” in height, and wearing a t-shirt and striped shorts. The woman was 25-35 years old, about 5’2” in height, and wearing a blue t-shirt and pajama.
According to the police, a concerned citizen named Fatima Dimayuga informed the Tiaong Police regarding the shooting incident at around 3:30 a.m.
The witness told the police investigator that the victims were at the tricycle terminal and boarded on their motorcycle at Sambat Paiisa, also this town.
Based on the investigation, the gunman arrived from an unknown direction and upon seeing the suspect, the duo ran toward the Petron gasoline station where the suspect chased them.
The victims shouted and sought help ‘tulungan nyo kami, tinutukan kami ng baril (help us, the gun is aimed at us).’ When the victims were cornered, the suspect shot them several times, inflicting gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies.
According to gas station pump attendants, Dave Saez and Benedict Manalo, the suspect fled on foot after shooting the victims.
Reports added that the intelligence operatives of Tiaong Philippine National Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation while an investigation is ongoing for possible identity and determining the motives in the killing.
