A freshman from Notre Dame in Illinois, Geriane clocked 29.38 seconds to lead the finalists in her event, eclipsing the two-year-old mark of 29.53sec by Jasmine Alkhaldi at the 2019 SEAG in Capas, Tarlac.

Chloe Isleta also advanced to the finals of the same event after finishing second in the overall heats with 29.64sec.

Also earning a spot to the finals was Desirae Mangaoang, who timed 2 minutes and 35.41sec in the women’s 200m breaststroke.

She finished second behind top qualifier Christie Chue of Singapore, who posted 2:35.20.

Final races are set Sunday night.

The PH swimming team currently has one medal courtesy of a bronze from Miranda Renner in the women’s 100m freestyle.
