MB Daily News Update: Romualdez consensus choice for Speaker

From presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to the top boss of the powerhouse Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez has gotten endorsements to become the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.

But while Romualdez’s installation as Speaker is already considered a done deal, the choice for the next Senate President still hangs in the balance.

Meanwhile, Vice President Leni Robredo has urged her supporters to accept the results of the May 9 elections, which was “not in line with our dream”.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III announced that the regional wage boards in Metro Manila and Western Visayas have approved wage hikes that would help laborers cope with rising costs of goods and services.
