National University made quick work of the hapless University of the East, 25-11, 25-20, 25-13, for its fourth straight win in the UAAP Season 84 women's volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City Thursday, May 12.

The Lady Bulldogs' firepower proved to be too much for the Lady Warriors as Sheena Toring hammered down eight spikes, three service aces, and two blocks for 13 points while Ivy Lacsina fired 13 markers off 12 spikes.
Rookie Michaela Belen still played consistently and torched UE from the service line with four aces for 11 points as NU remained on top with a 4-0 record.
Lady Bulldogs head coach Karl Dimaculangan indeed stressed that consistency is key for the win as if this was already a clear routine for his rookie-laden team, which only needed an hour and 19 minutes to call it a match.
"Every team naman na makakalaban namin nagpe-prepare kami nang maayos so stick lang ulit kami doon,” said Lady Bulldogs head coach Karl Dimaculangan after competing against his the former squad where he used to call the shots in Season 82. "Paulit-ulit lang naman din yung ginagawa namin, 'yon lang."
NU pulled away for good after leading by as many as 11 points in the third and final set, 23-12, before a Dea Villamor service error put the top squad to match point.
It was France Ronquillo who put the finishing blow for NU with a service ace of her own.
NU also displayed superb floor defense and denied UE of any points from the service line as Belen and Jen Nierva combined for 42 excellent digs.
Camille Lamina also tossed the Lady Bulldogs' 11 of 29 excellent sets compared to the four made by Von Dimacalungan alone for the Lady Warriors, who fell to a 0-4 hole.
