In a Facebook live, Domagoso said those who are planning to hold a public gathering should get a permit first from the city government.

"Tapos na ang kampanya, tapos na ang halalan, nagdesisyon na ang tao. Now, we have to put things in right order (The campaign is over, the election is over, the people have decided. Now, we have to put things in right order)," he said.

"For the purposes of moving on at kayo ay maibalik na sa normal, 'yung normal na pamumuhay, kailangan na pong ilagay natin sa tamang perspektibo ang mga bagay bagay (and for you to return to normal, normal life, we need to put things in the right perspective)," Domagoso said.

In his memorandum, Domagoso directed the Manila Police District (MPD) to strictly enforce the said provision.

"All Punong Barangay and Barangay officials are likewise ordered to ensure that the provisions of BP 880 are strictly enforced within their respective barangays," it also stated.

The Bureau of Permits was also directed to "act promptly and expeditiously on applications for permit.”

"My job is to keep you safe. My job is to give you opportunity. Ang trabaho ko ay mabigyan kayo ng maaliwalas, matiwasay, at panatag na pamumuhay sa lungsod ng Maynila," the chief executive said.

The memorandum came after various groups held a protest in front of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Intramuros, Manila on Tuesday, May 10, against alleged cheating in the May 9 polls.
