Vice presidential candidate Doc Willie Ong wished both leading presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and vice presidential bet Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte a successful administration as he conceded defeat on Wednesday, May 11.
“Sana po maging maganda at matagumpay ang inyong panunungkulan sa anim na taon (I hope that your administration will be successful in the next six years). I’m sure alam niyo naman na maraming umaasa, lalo na ‘yung mga kababayan nating naghihirap, na mas gaganda ang kanilang buhay (you know that many are hoping, especially those living in poor conditions, for better lives),” he said in a Facebook live.
As of 7:05 p.m. on May 11, Ong placed 4th in the vice-presidential race with 1,850,234 votes in the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“Sana maging matahimik na ang ating bayan, at magsama-sama na tayo at magtuloy na kung saan man tayo patungo para mas umunlad ang ating bayan (I hope our country will be peaceful, and let’s come together and move forward in order to make our country more progressive),” he added.
Ong said he will continue to serve to the Filipino people as a doctor.
“Ako naman po, balik lang tayo sa ating dating medical mission at pagtulong at ayuda sa ating kababayan. Lagi lang naman tayong nandito. Tutulong tayo sa abot ng ating makakaya (I will return to doing medical mission, and helping and giving aid to our countrymen. I am always here. I will help in whatever way I can),” he said.
The cardiologist had also thanked those who supported and voted for him.
“Salamat, salamat, salamat po sa lahat ng bumoto sa akin. I love you everyone,” he said.
