NIGHT OWL
Anna Mae LamentilloThe Filipino people have spoken. We have made history once again with a president-vice president tandem overwhelmingly chosen by the electorate.
As of this writing, the partial and unofficial tally for the 2022 Philippine elections — based on data from the Comelec transparency server — show that Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (BBM) and Sara Duterte are in for a landslide win as the next president and vice president of the Philippines, respectively, with more than 50 percent of those who exercised their right to suffrage voting for the tandem.
This win of the UniTeam is a win for the Filipino people. Imagine what we can achieve with the two highest leaders of the land working hand-in-hand. The Marcos-Duterte leadership will lead us to unity and continuity, which will usher in a better, brighter future for our country.
As what BBM and Inday Sara have been reiterating throughout the campaign, unity will be the driving force to make this country great again. They are poised to build on the gains of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration. They are ready to roll up their sleeves and work together with the Filipino people.
FERDINAND 'BONGBONG' MARCOS, JR.We are now assured of the continued implementation of President Duterte’s massive infrastructure program, “Build, Build, Build,” the war against illegal drugs, and the anti-insurgency programs under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), among other programs.
We are looking forward to the execution of BBM’s platform on improving healthcare and education, agriculture and food security, strengthening tourism and jobs creation, fast-tracking infrastructure projects including digital infrastructure, investing in the development of renewable energy sources, and promoting sustainable development, to name a few.
BBM and Inday Sara will have allies in Congress who will provide the necessary legislative measures to institutionalize policies and programs aligned with their platform. In the Senate, they will have the support of Mark Villar, who is doing well in the senatorial race. Among the soon-to-be senator’s priorities is the institutionalization of the “Build, Build, Build” program through legislation.
The result of this elections is promising, it gives us assurance of a strong government that will advance the country to the next level of development.
We are at a critical juncture of the Philippine economy, which has been adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. But the Marcos-Duterte leadership gives us hope that country will surpass these challenges and bounce back better.
BBM, the next Philippine President chosen by an overwhelming majority of Filipinos, has vowed to make the country great again and make every citizen proud to say, “Ako ay Pilipino, taas noo kahit kanino.”
