2 foreigners arrested for gun possession in Parañaque City

Two foreign nationals were arrested after the bag they were carrying while passing through an x-ray machine at a hotel entrance in Parañaque City yielded a gun on Tuesday, May 10.

Col. Maximo Sebastian, the city police chief, identified the suspects as Andrew Too Teck Wee, 34, Malaysian, of Sta. Cruz, Laguna, and Zheng Yi, 29, a Chinese and resident of Makati City.

Sebastian said the suspects were arrested around 10:53 p.m. at the VIP Lobby entrance of Okada Resorts and Casino, New Seaside Drive, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City.

The city police chief said the suspects arrived at the resort casino Tuesday night, placed their bags in a conveyor for x-ray inspection, took the bag and were about to enter the hotel when they were arrested.

Security officers called for police assistance from the Tambo Sub-Station. The suspects were arrested after they failed to show the necessary documents authorizing them to carry a .40 pistol loaded with five live ammunition.

The suspects are now detained at the Parañaque City police custodial facility.
