The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Board of Canvassers (BOC) in Caloocan City proclaimed on Tuesday, May 10, District 1 Rep. Dale “Along” Malapitan as the new city mayor.
Malapitan, who will be serving as the 25th mayor of Caloocan, thanked the residents for their support.
"Ang tagumpay ko ay tagumpay ng bawat Batang Kankaloo. Tapos na ang kampanya, tapos na ang eleksyon, simulan naman natin ang pagtratrabaho para sa ating mga kababayan. Panahon na ngayon ng pagkakaisa kahit anong kulay politika mo pa (My victory is the victory of every Batang Kankaloo. The campaign and elections are over, let's start working for our people. Now is the time to unite no matter what your political color is),” Malapitan said.
"At bilang ama ng Caloocan, titiyakin ko po na sa pag-angat ng ating lungsod, lahat kasama. Wala tayong iiwanan (And as the father of Caloocan, I will make sure that everyone is included in the city’s growth. No one will be left behind," he added.
Meanwhile, his father and incumbent Mayor “Oscar” Malapitan won the first district congressional seat, while his running mate, Karina Teh, was proclaimed vice-mayor.
Mitch Cajayon-Uy and Dean Asistio won the congressional seats for the city’s second district and third district, respectively.
