Presidential candidate Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso congratulated former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong" Marcos Jr. as he conceded defeat in the presidential race on Tuesday, May 10.
I hope it can be official soon at matapos na, mapanatag na ang lahat (The people have already made their choice, every Filipino. At this time, I would like to congratulate former senator Ferdinand Marcos for leading and continuously leading the race. I hope it can be official soon so that everyone will be at peace),” he said during a live broadcast.
Congratulations po sa inyo (I congratulate the family of former senator Ferdinand Marcos for being chosen by the majority. Congratulations to you),” he added.
Domagoso also urged the Filipinos, especially those who supported and voted for him, to support the new leadership.
Kailangan natin magtagumpay pare-pareho (To my supporters, to those who voted for me -- we need to unite, help the new choice of our countrymen. We need to succeed together),” he said.
The next administration will not succeed if we continue to grieve, or if we still have resentment),”
The Manila mayor reiterated that each individual has a responsibility to support and unite with the incoming administration.
“Wag tayong makikibahagi sa anumang gulo, alingasngas, o bindi pagkakasunduan (Let us not get involved in any trouble, scandal, or disagreements). We have to give chance to the new leadership,” he said.
Domagoso thanked his family, friends, supporters, and volunteers who stayed with him until election day.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Aksyon Demokratiko slate for being with him in his journey.
