Long lines form outside voting precincts in Caloocan City

Long lines of voters waiting for their turn to cast their votes formed outside Camarin Elementary School and other polling precincts in Caloocan City despite reports of malfunctioning Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) on Monday, May 9.

The teachers assigned to precinct number 316 where ballots got stuck inside a VCM said the ballots were immediately removed by technicians.

The machine was fixed at around 7:25 a.m., and voting resumed.

Jun, 50, a voter at Camarin Elementary School, said that he was still unable to vote since he came at around 8 a.m. due to the long line.

Ronald, 38, said he waited for around two hours before he was able to cast his vote.

He complained about the absence of proper guidelines for people to follow.
