Comelec to Pasay police: Stay 50 meters away from polling precincts

The Pasay City Commission on Election (Comelec) told policemen assigned to the city’s 24 polling precincts to station themselves at least 50 meters away.

According to Pasay City police chief Col. Cesar Paday-os, Atty. Rolando Santiago, Pasay election officer, informed them to set up their help desk at least 50 meters away from the polling place.

Paday-os said policemen were only allowed to enter the polling centers unless they need to respond to any untoward incident that may occur.

He said a total of 100 policemen were stationed at the 24 polling precincts and another 500 were conducting patrol around the city to ensure the orderly conduct of the elections.

The city police chief also said they have not recorded any violation of the liquor ban.

Paday-os said since the start of the Comelec gun ban, they have recorded more than 50 violations.
