The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a 92 percent completion of the delivery of official ballots across the country.
In a statement released on Sunday morning, May 9, the PNP said the ballots have already been turned over to a total of 1,635 Treasurer's Office of local government units.
"These are for further distribution to 37,113 polling centers," the PNP said in a statement.
Policemen, soldiers and Coast Guard personnel have been tapped to escort the delivery of officials ballots especially in far-flung areas and areas with security threats.
Aside from securing the delivery of ballots, policemen were also tapped to secure all polling precincts.
Last week, almost 1,000 cops completed the refresher course as Board of Election Inspectors. They will serve as standby BEIs in case teachers would not show up on election day.
