Motorcycle-riding duo burns to death after collision with car in Cagayan


ENRILE, Cagayan – A motorcycle went into flames as a result of a strong impact after it was bumped off by a car, resulting in the death of its two riders in an accident along national highway in Brgy. Roma Norte, Enrile, Cagayan on Saturday.

Police identified the victims as Marlon Pascual, 39, a barangay tanod and a resident of Zone 3, Brgy. Furagui, Solana, Cagayan and his back rider Khenny Vegas, 42, and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Maddarulug Norte, Enrile, Cagayan.

Police said the two victims were coming from the southern direction and were traversing along National Highway when a vehicle driven by Eduardo Lucas in the opposite direction and trying to overtake a tricycle hit them.

Due to the strong impact, the motorcycle burst into flames and burned the two victims who were thrown at the shoulder of the road.

The car incurred severe damages while the motorcycle was totally burned.

Responding Bureau of Fire and Protection personnel gave first aid to the car driver due to the minor injury he sustained.

The cadaver of the victims were brought to the Carbonel Funeral Home, Buntun, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan for funeral services.

The car driver is now under the custody of Enrile Police Station for further investigation and proper disposition, according to Senior Master Sergeant Jaime Lallaban, investigator-on-case.
