2 elderlies hurt in Caloocan City fire


Two senior citizens were hurt after a fire broke out in a two-storey house at Macopa Street, Brgy. Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City early Saturday morning, May 7.

The Caloocan City Fire Station (CCFS) said that the victims, Dionito Delos Santos, 82, and Eulogia Delos Santos, 81, sustained first degree burns on different parts of their body and were brought to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Public Information Office said that the fire was raised to first alarm at around 4:16 a.m. and was extinguished at around 4:40 a.m.

The CCFS said that the fire was caused by an unattended lighted candle placed on an altar located between the living and dining rooms of the house.

Authorites placed a P10,000 estimated amount of damage to property caused by the incident.
