Dynamic Herb pulls off second win, beats Maharlika in Copa Paulino Alcantara

Dynamic Herb Cebu continued its dream run in the Copa Paulino Alcantara after defeating Maharlika-Manila, 2-1, Thursday, May 5 at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite.

Turkish striker Arda Cinkir and JB Borlongan accounted for the two goals that enabled Cebu to pick up its fourth win in four matches while tightening the grip on second spot with 12 points.

Cebu also moved a point behind defending champion Kaya-Iloilo for the lead with two matches remaining in the elimination round of the cup tournament.

But Cebu will enter a rough stretch of matches that could determine its capability to compete for the Copa crown.

The Gentle Giants take on United City FC on Sunday before playing Kaya on May 12.

Maharlika remained in fifth place with three points through five matches, four back of the Azkals Development Team.

Cinkir, a 20-year-old forward from Hatay, scored a cup-tying third goal in the 37th minute to put Cebu on the board before Borlongan made it 2-0 shortly before the hour mark.

South Korean Kim Sung-min pulled one back for Maharlika in the 69th, but the scoreline stood until the final whistle.
