Tulfo tops OCTA’s April 2022 senatorial survey


Broadcast journalist Raffy Tulfo emerged as the top senatorial pick based on the latest nationwide survey held by the independent group OCTA Research.

The “Tugon ng Masa” survey was held from April 22 until April 25, covering only 2,400 male and female respondents aged 18 years and above who are registered and likely voters from class AB, C, D, or E across the country.

OCTA’s data showed that 99 percent of the respondents are aware that Tulfo is running for senator, while 63 percent said that they will vote for him.

He was followed by former Public Works and Highways Chief Mark Villar who received a voting preference of 55 percent which sets him to a ranking of second to third.

Antique Rep. Loren Legarda, on the other hand, landed to a ranking of second to fifth with a rating of 51 percent.

Reelectionist Juan Miguel Zubiri and former senator and incumbent Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero both settled to a third to sixth ranking with a voting percentage of 49 and 46 percent respectively.

Meanwhile, actor Robin Padilla garnered 44 percent of votes, landing him a spot of fourth or eighth.

Taguig City-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano’s 40 percent and reelectionist senator Sherwin Gatchalian’s 39 percent secured them a sixth to ninth place in the list.

Joel Villanueva garnered a voting preference of 36 percent, making him a spot between seventh to 13th places while former senator Jinggoy Estrada, with his 33 percent votes garnered, secured himself a spot between ninth to 13th places.

Moreover, former senator JV Ejercito (31 percent) and reelectionist Risa Hontiveros (31 percent) both placed ninth to 14th.
