The Philippine Coast Guard (PCGF) will formally include, on Friday, May 6, its newly-procured ship from Japan.
Described as one of the largest ships of the PCG, the commissioning ceremony will be attended by Department of Transportation Sec. Art Tugade and top Coast Guard officials led by Admiral Artemio Abu.

The vessel has also a maximum endurance of 4,000 nautical miles which makes it capable of long patrol in the Philippine seas.
Tugade also disclosed that next month, the second 97-meter multi-role response vessel (MRRV) of the Coast Guard, which will be named BRP Melchora Aquino, will also arrive.
