Rizal police seize P1-M shabu

Police operations on illegal drugs in San Mateo and Binangonan led to the confiscation of some P1 million worth of suspected shabu.

The recent anti-illegal drugs operation in San Mateo led to the arrest of two men and the confiscation of 17 pieces of suspected shabu on Monday, May 2.

Reports from the office of Rizal Police Provincial Office Director, Col. Dominic Baccay showed that two suspects, Jorge Cantado, alias "Tatong," and Jericho Barredo were caught in a buy-bust operation on Camia Street, Dona Pepeng, Barangay Banaba, San Mateo.

Police said the two suspects yielded some 12 grams of suspected shabu after an undercover operative of the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Provincial Police Office (PPO) was able to buy the shabu worth P81,600.

The PPO said the anti-illegal drugs operation in San Mateo was the second in the province since April 30 after two suspects, including a barangay ambulance driver, were caught in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Darangan in Binangonan.

Police seized from them suspected shabu weighing 138 grams with a street value of more or less P938,400 during the buy bust operation.
