REAL, Quezon -- A truck driver and his helper died after the truck they were riding fell into a ravine while traversing the downward portion of the highway on Monday morning in Barangay Tanauan this town.
According to the police report, the victims were identified as Alfonso Castro, driver, 43, and Allen Castro, 21, helper, and both were residents of Barangay Pinagbarilan, Baliwag, Bulacan.
Around 7:45 in the morning, the truck, an aluminum wing van loaded with agricultural feed and owned by King DJ Trucking Services, was headed for Infanta town to deliver the cargo.
The truck though didn’t reach its destination as it fell into a ravine after failing to negotiate the dangerous downward curve portion that has no concrete barrier.
It took three hours for the Real Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), Barangay Tanod, and Real PNP to pull out the victims during the rescue operation.
Both victims were already dead when they were finally taken out of the wreckage.
