Police seize P3.06 M worth of ‘shabu’ from four arrested illegal drug traders in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested four illegal drugs traders, and seized an estimated P3,060,000 worth of suspected ‘shabu’ in separate buy-bust operations here over the weekend.

On Saturday, Elmar Gallego, 33, and Edmar Infante, 26, both residents of Silay City, Negros Occidental, and Baby Girl Villarna, 33, of Barangay Banago here, were arrested at Purok Kahirup, Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Police recovered from them the P30,000 marked money and boodle money, and 200 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,360,000. A .22 caliber revolver with three live ammunition was also confiscated from Infante.

Maj. Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, said that Villarna was previously arrested for a drug offense but was released from jail in November 2021 through plea bargaining.

Puerto said that Villarna allegedly has a contact inside a jail here, while Infante and Gallego, who were subjects of the operation, were allegedly tasked to transact with their clients upon her instruction.

Early the following day, Christian Oliveros, 21, of Barangay 35 here was also arrested at Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.

The operatives found 250 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.7 million from Oliveros, and the P1,000 marked money, and P300 cash.

Police Lt. Joven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said that Oliveros allegedly just started engaging in the illegal drug trade, adding that his clients were usually truck drivers.

Mogato said that Oliveros is considered a high value individual because of the volume of illegal drugs seized from him. He is detained at Police Station 2.
